What the package actually includes

Saudi offers quote a basic salary first. On top of the basic, expect roughly 25 percent as a housing allowance and around 10 percent as a transport allowance, so a stated basic of SAR 12,000 is closer to SAR 16,200 in the hand. Every figure on this page is the basic, so compare offers on the basic and then check the allowances separately.

Jeddah's analyst market is smaller and more concentrated than Riyadh's, with roughly one open role for every three in the capital. It leans towards logistics, aviation, FMCG and healthcare rather than banking and government technology. The practical effect is that Jeddah analysts tend to be generalists who own a whole reporting function, where a Riyadh analyst of the same age might specialise inside a larger team.

Skills that move you up a band

These are the differences the Jeddah market pays for, measured as the monthly premium against an otherwise identical CV in the same band.

  • Python for analysis: pandas, automation

    +SAR 1,800 to 3,500

Jeddah teams are smaller than Riyadh teams, so the analyst who automates their own reporting frees up the most visible amount of time. It is the fastest route out of the junior band here.

  • Arabic and English reporting

    +SAR 1,200 to 2,800

Worth more in Jeddah than in Dubai. A large share of the employer base is family owned or public sector, where board level reporting is produced in Arabic.

  • Cloud warehouse: BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks

    +SAR 2,000 to 4,500

Fewer Jeddah employers have migrated than in Riyadh, so the premium is smaller, but the scarcity is higher. Logistics and healthcare are the two sectors hiring for it.

  • Power BI beyond drag and drop: DAX, row level security

    +SAR 1,500 to 3,000

Power BI dominates the Jeddah listing sample far more than Tableau does. Depth in one tool beats familiarity with three.

  • Supply chain and logistics domain knowledge

    +SAR 2,000 to 4,000

Jeddah is the kingdom's port city and its analyst demand reflects that. Understanding inventory, lead time and freight cost data is worth more here than anywhere else in Saudi Arabia.

Before you negotiate

Jeddah offers sit around 10 percent below Riyadh at every band, and employers know candidates compare the two. The strongest position is not to demand the Riyadh figure but to price the absence of a relocation cost: you are already here, already housed, and available immediately. Giga project employers in the western region are the exception and often pay at or above Riyadh rates.

Anchor on the band, not on your last salary. The employer knows the range for the level they are hiring at, and quoting your previous pay hands them the number for free. Say which band your experience places you in, name the figure at the top of it, and let them counter downwards from there.

Then price the gap. If a skill on the list above is missing from your CV, you are negotiating at the lower end of the band by default, and no amount of framing fixes that in the call. Closing one of those gaps is usually worth more over a year than anything you win in the conversation itself.

Common questions

Is a data analyst salary in Jeddah tax free?

Yes. Saudi Arabia has no personal income tax, so the offer figure is close to what lands in your account. Saudi nationals have GOSI deducted; expatriate employees generally do not have a pension deduction.

How much less does Jeddah pay than Riyadh?

Around 10 to 12 percent at every band in the current sample. The gap is smallest at entry level and widest at senior, because senior analyst demand in Saudi Arabia is heavily concentrated in Riyadh. Giga project employers in the western region are the main exception.

Which sectors hire the most analysts in Jeddah?

Logistics and aviation first, then FMCG, healthcare and insurance, then banking. This is close to the inverse of Riyadh, where banking, telecom and government technology lead. It changes which domain knowledge is worth money.

Is it worth relocating to Riyadh for the pay?

For a mid level analyst the gap is roughly SAR 1,500 a month before housing costs, and Riyadh housing is more expensive. The stronger argument for relocating is not the salary but the number of senior roles available to move into later.

What do employers in Jeddah ask for most?

SQL and Power BI appear in nearly every listing above entry level. After that, the differentiators in this sample are Python, Arabic reporting, and supply chain or logistics domain knowledge.

How these figures were built

Figures are triangulated from Glassdoor city salary pages, September 2026, GulfTalent salary reports, September 2026, Payscale Saudi Arabia and UAE, Careery Job Scout, live listings, 90 days to 10 September 2026. This page draws on 140 live listings in the sample window. A page is published only where salary confidence is high, with at least 25 live listings and three named employers, so combinations you cannot find here did not clear that bar.
