What the package actually includes
Saudi offers quote a basic salary first. On top of the basic, expect roughly 25 percent as a housing allowance and around 10 percent as a transport allowance, so a stated basic of SAR 12,000 is closer to SAR 16,200 in the hand. Every figure on this page is the basic, so compare offers on the basic and then check the allowances separately.
Analyst demand in Riyadh is concentrated in four places: banking, telecom, government transformation programmes, and quick commerce. Salaries diverge sharply between them, and the same job title pays very differently at a consultancy than it does at a bank. Riyadh alone accounts for roughly two thirds of all analyst vacancies in Saudi Arabia, which is why relocating from Jeddah or Dammam is common at the junior to mid transition.
Skills that move you up a band
These are the differences the Riyadh market pays for, measured as the monthly premium against an otherwise identical CV in the same band.
Cloud warehouse: BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks
+SAR 2,500 to 6,000The single biggest jump in Riyadh. Banking and government programmes are migrating off on-premise systems, and analysts who can work inside the warehouse rather than wait for it are scarce.

+SAR 2,000 to 4,000The line between junior and mid. Not machine learning, just the ability to stop doing a thing by hand every month.
Find courses: Python for Data AnalysisForecasting and basic modelling
+SAR 3,000 to 7,000Retail and telecom in Riyadh pay a real premium for demand and churn forecasting. This is where analyst pay starts overlapping data scientist pay.
Find courses: Time Series and ForecastingPower BI beyond drag and drop: DAX, row level security
+SAR 1,500 to 3,000Power BI on a CV is expected. DAX and row level security on a CV is a different candidate.
Find courses: Advanced Power BIArabic and English reporting
+SAR 1,000 to 2,500Specific to the Saudi market. Public sector and Vision 2030 programme work often requires reporting in both, and it narrows the candidate pool sharply.
SQL: joins at scale, window functions

Before you negotiate
Riyadh hiring clusters in January and September, and offers made outside those windows are more negotiable because the alternative for the employer is another three months of searching. Package structure matters as much as the headline: a basic of SAR 12,000 with the standard 25 percent housing and 10 percent transport allowances lands near SAR 16,500 all in.
Anchor on the band, not on your last salary. The employer knows the range for the level they are hiring at, and quoting your previous pay hands them the number for free. Say which band your experience places you in, name the figure at the top of it, and let them counter downwards from there.
Then price the gap. If a skill on the list above is missing from your CV, you are negotiating at the lower end of the band by default, and no amount of framing fixes that in the call. Closing one of those gaps is usually worth more over a year than anything you win in the conversation itself.
Common questions
Is a data analyst salary in Riyadh tax free?
There is no personal income tax in Saudi Arabia, so the figure on the offer is close to the figure you receive. Saudi nationals have GOSI social insurance deducted; expatriate employees generally do not have a pension deduction. Confirm the exact deductions with the employer before signing.
What do I need to get hired as a fresh graduate?
In the current Riyadh sample, entry level listings ask for SQL, Excel and one BI tool, usually Power BI. A degree in any numerate subject is accepted. What separates candidates at this level is one finished project with real data that you can talk about for ten minutes, not a certificate.
Does Riyadh or Dubai pay data analysts more?
They are close, and Riyadh is slightly ahead at mid level once converted. Dubai has roughly 25 percent more open roles, so it is easier to get hired there, but housing costs are higher and the band is not wider. For a first job, role volume matters more than the small difference in pay.
Do I need Arabic to work as an analyst in Riyadh?
For private sector and multinational roles, no, English is the working language. For government and Vision 2030 programme work, Arabic reporting is often required and is worth SAR 1,000 to 2,500 a month because it removes most of the competition.
How long does it take to go from junior to mid level?
Two to four years is typical, but the band is bought with capability rather than time. Analysts who add Python and cloud warehouse work inside their first two years routinely reach mid level pay in year three; analysts who stay in Excel and Power BI often sit at the top of the junior band for five.
How these figures were built
Figures are triangulated from Glassdoor city salary pages, September 2026, GulfTalent salary reports, September 2026, Payscale Saudi Arabia and UAE, Careery Job Scout, live listings, 90 days to 10 September 2026. This page draws on 485 live listings in the sample window. A page is published only where salary confidence is high, with at least 25 live listings and three named employers, so combinations you cannot find here did not clear that bar.
